We're looking for a wide range of animation plans and works to pioneer next-generation animation expression.
Actively developing international markets through co-productions.
Japanese animation enjoys high global demand for its top-tier quality. However, the industry faces challenges, including a demanding work environment and difficult production conditions.
XBP aims to create a better production environment where creators can work with peace of mind and fully express their creative potential. We do this by actively developing overseas markets through international co-productions. This competition was created to discover and support current and aspiring animation creators, with the hope of improving the overall landscape of anime production.
The judging process will involve reviewing both the work itself and the presentation.
We welcome all genres and lengths. Express your unique world in a way that you find interesting.
The judging process consists of two parts: a review of the submitted work and a presentation. You are welcome to use the presentation to explain the intent and passion behind your work.
However, the presentation does not need to be given by the creator themselves. You can team up with a producer or other individual who understands your work well and participate as a team.
Somewhere in the world, someone is waiting for your work, waiting for your talent.
In addition to prize money as production funding, winners will receive business support from XBP, with the aim of overseas distribution of their work and launching it as a business project. ※
Whether or not it actually launches as a business project will be determined separately after
the award, and will be handled as an independent business agreement.
Please note that this does not guarantee the establishment of a business project after winning.
Application Target
Individuals, corporations, and organizations are invited to apply. Students and professionals, regardless of their experience level, are welcome. If you are involved in various creative roles, such as directors, producers, or screenwriters, please apply with the best team you can assemble for your creative ideas. In the project division, actors and voice actors are also encouraged to submit proposals that include their own appearance.

Completed Work Division
Grand Prize¥3,000,000We are seeking original and unrestricted expressions across all genres and lengths. Our goal is to discover new talent that pushes beyond established boundaries.
Please fill out the basic information for your project in the application form and submit the following materials:
- Video Submission:
- Upload your video work to YouTube as a private link. The length of the video is not a concern, but it must have been completed within the last three years.
- Member Sheet:
- In the specified format, provide a list of all team members, including participating creators, and an organizational chart. Applications from individuals are also welcome.
- The following additional materials are optional and will be used as references during the selection process * They are not required items.

Project Division
Grand Prize¥1,000,000We are looking for project ideas before they take shape. We welcome proposals for unique and new video experiences—appeal for potential with project proposals and presentations. Conceptual power, feasibility, and marketability are evaluation points.
Please enter the basic information about the project in the application form and submit the following materials.

at theX BORDER Media Art Festival held in Okinawa!
The event organizer will cover travel and accommodation expenses to the final screening location in Okinawa for one team representative or individual, typically the director. Additionally, travel and accommodation costs will be determined as specified by the event secretariat.

- QCan I apply for works that have been submitted to other competitions?
- AYes, you can. However, please refrain from works that have already won other prizes.
- QI am a minor. Do I need parental consent?
- AYes, it is necessary. For applications from those under the age of 18 as of April 1, 2025, please fill in the consent form on the application form with the consent from your parent or guardian or the person from the school you belong to.
- QCan I apply as a company?
- AYes, welcome!
- QIs the length really free?
- AYes, it's free. It can be any number of hours as long as it fits the video project for the application.
